Yes, Digital Marketing captures the immediate low hanging fruit at the bottom of the sales funnel. These are prospects doing a Google search for “gym near me.”

You must continue to advertise in order to keep the funnel filling.

It’s no different than filling a bathtub. If you turn off the water, the tub stops filling. It’s really that simple. Some prospects will fall directly to the bottom of the funnel and take action, but most go through each stage of the process before taking action. A good marketer knows this process.

Because the main component of digital marketing captures the active search “gym near me” there is a misconception that it’s either better or the only good form of marketing. Digital marketing is not as good at filling the top 3 stages of the funnel as direct mail. And direct mail also fills the Action stage. It’s the best of both worlds.
